Have you ever been in a situation that was so challenging to the point where you didn’t want to pray? As a matter of fact, it’s not that you didn’t want to pray, it’s just that you felt so drained, from being overly stressed, to the point where the energy just wasn’t there. If you’ve been through anything, you’d know what I’m talking about. There’s a reason for my asking these questions and that is to bring to your attention the blessing of thanksgiving.
We all know that God’s plan for our lives is already complete; we’re just walking it out. In the midst of walking out this journey, we face bumps, bends, and unexpected turns in our lives, but Jesus has already conquered every challenge under the sun. There are times that circumstances seem so tough that we feel like it’s all over and there’s no hope. Your mind can’t fathom how you’re going to get out of it. This is a perfect opportunity to give God thanks. The Bible says that we are to give God thanks no matter what happens because this is His will. And let me tell you, giving thanks to God can change ANY situation, from the inside out. I challenge you to start giving thanks to God for different things that He’s done in your life the next time you go through a tough situation. I’m not saying that magic will happen, but what I am saying is that it will take your mind off of the problem and put your mind on God’s faithfulness to you. I find that when I just thank God for His goodness, there’s a peace that comes and the situation doesn’t even matter anymore because I know that God loves me and wants me to be happy.
The next time you’re in a challenging situation, take some time and say, “Lord I thank You for your goodness. I thank You Lord, that Your word is true” or whatever you want to thank God for. Let it be from the deepest place in your heart. Then continually confess those scriptures that relate to your situation and watch change take place.

Meditation Scriptures:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 MSG
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
John 16: 31-33
Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”
