It’s not often that I’ve witnessed or sat in a room filled with women screaming at the top of their lungs. Well, at least not for good reason. It’s clear that I wasn’t sitting in on a taping of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, although I was in Atlanta. We were gathered together at a 2011 women’s conference where Dr. Medina Pullings was the guest speaker. Oh, the shouting? If one ever has the pleasure of sitting under this mighty woman of God, you will know that it’s almost impossible to keep quiet when the Holy Ghost ignites on the inside of her.

If you look at her life now from where you sit, you’d probably say that she’s been blessed with it all. She is beautiful, has a loving husband and family, a growing international ministry, blooming businesses and more. While all of those things are true today, Dr. Pullings has a story like many women. She is no stranger to the hood or to not “having it all.” Dr. Medina grew up in the Bronx in a single parent household like several women in America have. She was not born into the lavish lifestyle that many desire to have these days; so what changed? Jesus!

Medina Pullings was introduced to a relationship with Christ around the age of 16 years old. Having a fire for Christ, she began telling people about Him everywhere she went and began serving in the church. That fire for God continued to grow, directing her to where she is now. He [God] led she and her husband, Orrin Pullings to each other and equipped them for global ministry. Pastor Medina Pullings stands boldly before people of God from all over the world, delivering timely and prophetic words. Not mishandling the anointing that is surely on her life, she operates in effective ministry. I do not say it for sake of flattery when I tell you that she is a true spiritual warrior and glory carrier.

The gifts of Dr. Medina extend beyond the pulpit. She is also a business owner and designer. I find it to be of no surprise that Medina is the owner of Style & Grace boutique, as she clearly is not a stranger to fashion and everything about her screams grace when she steps onto the platform. When you look at her, you’d probably think to yourself that she is the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman. Talent, style, grace and swag she has; however, Dr. Medina does not hesitate to credit her success to the favor God and direction of the Holy Spirit. In an interview with Nichelle Early, she gave her keys to success. Referring to the Holy Spirit, she:

1.       Listens to His voice
2.       Obeys what He says
3.       Stays in His Word
4.       Does what He tells her to.

Those keys to success have everything to do with where she is now. Today, Medina Pullings pastors United Nations Church in Richmond, VA with her husband Bishop Orrin Pullings. UNC has other locations in Charlotte, New York and Atlanta metro. In ensuring that young ladies have adequate mentorship, Medina established the Princess Club and hosts the annual Jesus Girl Conference for women. On top of speaking to nations, being a wife and business woman; Dr. Pullings is the mother of five children. It looks like Medina Pullings has her hands full and has accomplished a great deal in her life thus far, but I have a feeling that this “Jesus Girl” is just getting started!
